bookmark_borderTrump’s Manufactured Shutdown: White Nationalism Over Economics

by Daniel Brouse
September 25, 2025

The U.S. government is once again barreling toward a shutdown, and the chaos is entirely of Donald Trump’s making. Despite branding himself a “businessman president,” Trump continues to push policies that baffle economists and devastate the very citizens he claims to represent.

The MAGA movement has ballooned the deficit through reckless spending while simultaneously cutting healthcare assistance for millions of Americans in need of insurance. Now, Trump is refusing to meet with Democratic leaders to even attempt a compromise. The result: a government paralyzed not by fiscal necessity, but by ideology.

I have been warning since Trump first took office that trying to reconstruct the global economy through the lens of white nationalism would end in disaster. Without the intellect of a second grader, Trump has undermined decades of U.S. economic stability in pursuit of grievance politics.

The government is already reeling from the DOGE fiasco, yet Trump’s proposed response is even more dangerous: firing thousands of government employees if a shutdown occurs, under the absurd pretense of “teaching Democrats a lesson.” These tactics are not only cruel—they could be the final nail in the coffin of what is already a failed Trump economy.

Protectionism and white nationalism are not economic strategies. Trade wars with nearly every major economy have shredded American credibility and competitiveness. Trump has violated the Constitution by pushing through the largest regressive tax increase in U.S. history, enriching the wealthy while burdening working families. Meanwhile, his racist, anti-immigration policies are crippling the backbone of American capitalism: population growth. Immigration has accounted for approximately 80% of GDP growth over the last five years—yet Trump insists on cutting off this lifeline.

A shutdown is now looking increasingly inevitable, not because of necessity, but because Trump believes he can spin an economic collapse into a political weapon against the so-called “radical left.” The irony, of course, is that it is the right—through Trump’s recklessness—that is dismantling the very fiscal conservatism it once claimed to uphold. As a fiscally conservative Republican economist, I cannot overstate the damage: Trump is destroying America from within.

PSA: “Killing humor isn’t funny. Kill humor, kill freedom. Not so funny now, is it?”

Nexstar Joins Sinclair in Silencing Jimmy Kimmel’s ABC Return

Disney and ABC have put Jimmy Kimmel back on the air! His first night back drew record viewership, even as dozens of affiliate stations continued enforcing prior censorship. The coordinated actions of Sinclair and Nexstar appear politically motivated—driven by pressure from Trump-aligned officials, including the FCC, and by Nexstar’s commercial interest in securing approval for its proposed $6.2 billion acquisition of TEGNA, announced in August 2025 and still awaiting FCC sign-off. FCC Chairman Brendan Carr even went so far as to threaten ABC’s license, saying, “We can do this the easy way or the hard way.” Equally significant is Sinclair’s overt alignment with far-right MAGA politics. Together, these factors created powerful incentives for strategic censorship—and that is exactly what we witnessed.

ABC/Disney, however, do not appear to be part of the same collusion. ABC initially pulled the show under intense affiliate and regulatory pressure, then reversed course to bring Kimmel back—suggesting a response to coercion, not conspiracy. Whether ABC should have held firm from the start is debatable, but their actions triggered public pushback and mobilized resistance. That pushback—including advertiser pressure and widespread outrage—likely did far more to protect free speech than quiet capitulation or permanently pulling Kimmel ever would have. ABC proved that active resistance works.

This situation mirrors CBS’s experience but now involves ABC affiliates. Sinclair is a massive MAGA operation, and Ellison is equally extreme. ABC affiliates owned by Nexstar are tied to the pending TEGNA acquisition. For context, Paramount Global—the parent of CBS and its owned-and-operated stations—was recently acquired by Skydance Media in a deal approved by the FCC in July 2025. The new owners, Oracle’s far-right MAGA billionaires the Ellisons, are also working to fold TikTok into the broader MAGA media propaganda machine. Trump’s pattern is unmistakable: silence Stephen Colbert on CBS and Jimmy Kimmel on ABC. In an obvious quid pro quo, CBS and ABC were forced to capitulate—or risk the FCC denying mergers and acquisitions, or even revoking broadcast licenses—an unmistakable case of mob-style extortion at the highest levels of government. Not to be overlooked, Trump has already extorted millions from both ABC and CBS through personal lawsuits.

The Choice to Raise Your Voice

Make the choice to raise your voice! Just say NO! to censorship. This is about silencing opposition. This is about killing comedy before it can mock power — and make no mistake, satire has always been the sharpest blade in democracy’s arsenal — democracy’s secret weapon.

That’s why tyrants fear it, that’s why dictators ban it, and that’s why Trump is trying to kill it. Humor exposes lies. Humor punctures egos. Humor topples emperors who think they wear clothes.

Long live comedy. Long live satire. It’s time for all of us to pick up the torch and rise. Sharpen your wit, wield your words, and refuse to be silenced.

Here’s How You Can Fight Back

Nexstar has now joined Sinclair in refusing to air Jimmy Kimmel’s return on ABC.

🔗 Sinclair station list
🔗 Nexstar station list

✅ What you can do:

→ Tune in tonight — check if your local newscast is on when Kimmel should be airing.

→ Take notes — if your local news is airing instead of Jimmy, jot down the companies advertising during the broadcast.

→ Take action — call those companies and tell them you’ll boycott until they stop funding Sinclair and Nexstar’s censorship.

Debunking Common Climate Science Denial Claims: A Scientist’s Rebuttal

Climate science denial often takes the form of oversimplified analogies or misrepresentations of complex physical processes. One common line of attack is the claim that greenhouse gases and potent molecules like methane cannot significantly affect global temperatures. Here, I provide a fact-based response that can help anyone encountering similar arguments.

The Claim

A climate denier recently argued:

  • “Without greenhouse gases, place a container of ‘greenhouse gas’ in sunlight and see if it warms 33°C more than normal air—prove it!”

  • “Methane is too rare and short-lived to matter; its atmospheric concentration is under 2 ppm.”

  • “Theoretical physics is imagination; your climate predictions are politically motivated and have not come true.”

At first glance, these statements might appear plausible to the uninformed. But a deeper look reveals serious scientific inaccuracies.

Who I Am

I am a climate scientist and economist with over 45 years of experience in research and applied systems analysis. I’ve co-authored papers on:

  • Carbon cycles

  • Jet stream dynamics

  • Albedo and brown carbon

  • Atlantic Meridional Overturning Circulation (AMOC)

  • Permafrost thaw and Amazon rainforest dieback

  • Sea-level rise pulses

  • Hydroclimate whiplash and Arctic sea ice loss

  • Tipping points in climate systems

My work employs probabilistic, ensemble-based climate models, integrating socio-economic and ecological feedbacks within dynamic, nonlinear frameworks.

In the 1990s, my lab partner—a Doctor of Physics from Ohio State—and I first hypothesized the non-linear acceleration of climate change. This theory was experimentally and observationally supported by the early 2000s and has since been independently validated, forming the foundation of the current scientific consensus.

Why the Claims Are False

1. Greenhouse Gases and Surface Warming

The assertion that greenhouse gases cannot warm the Earth unless demonstrated in a small container experiment ignores decades of physics, spectroscopy, satellite measurements, and paleoclimate data.

  • Earth’s average surface temperature of +15°C vs. -18°C without greenhouse gases comes from planetary energy balance and radiative transfer physics, not trivial experiments.

  • The greenhouse effect is directly observed in the atmosphere: infrared radiation is absorbed and re-emitted by CO₂, methane, water vapor, and other gases.

Container experiments are not needed to validate this well-established, observable process.

2. Methane is Highly Potent

It is true that methane has an atmospheric half-life of 7–12 years, but this is irrelevant to its radiative impact:

  • Methane’s molecule-for-molecule warming potential is ~80 times CO₂ over 20 years.

  • At even 2 ppm, methane significantly contributes to warming due to secondary chemical effects, including ozone formation and stratospheric water vapor.

  • Ignoring these feedback loops is scientifically inaccurate.

3. Climate Impacts Are Accelerating

The denier’s claim that “predictions have not come true” is demonstrably false. Observations show:

  • In just ten days in July 2025, the U.S. experienced hundreds of flash floods, multiple “1-in-1,000-year” and “500-year” rainfall events, hundreds of deaths, and billions of dollars in damage.

  • These extreme events are consistent with rapidly accelerating climate change, as projected by climate models integrating nonlinear feedbacks.

4. Doubling Time of Climate Impacts

  • Initially, climate effects doubled roughly every 100 years. Today, the doubling time is just two years.

  • This means the damage we see now is twice as severe as two years ago; in a decade, it could be 64 times worse.

  • These trends are observed, not theoretical, and they underscore the urgency of immediate mitigation.

The Real Political Motivation

The political bias is on the side of denial, not science:

  • Groups like the CO₂ Coalition deliberately cherry-pick data, misrepresent feedback loops, and misinform the public.

  • Denial campaigns often pose as “objective skepticism” while ignoring overwhelming evidence, downplaying the real and escalating risks of climate change.

Conclusion

Climate change is not a theoretical imagination; it is an accelerating, well-documented phenomenon backed by decades of rigorous research. Attempts to dismiss it with flawed analogies, incomplete chemistry knowledge, or misrepresented physics are propaganda, not science.

Anyone seeking to understand the climate crisis must rely on:

  • Peer-reviewed research

  • Observational data

  • Predictive modeling validated across decades

Ignoring these facts is dangerous, not clever.

by Daniel Brouse
September 23, 2025

During his speech at the UN General Assembly on September 23, 2025, Donald Trump once again spread false and misleading claims about climate change, echoing statements he made while in office and on the campaign trail. His rhetoric not only undermines science but also threatens global efforts to combat climate disasters.

Key False Claims

  • “Climate change is the ‘greatest con job ever perpetuated on the world’”
Trump dismissed overwhelming scientific consensus. In 2023, over 99% of peer-reviewed studies confirmed that climate change is real and human-driven. Calling it a “con job” ignores decades of rigorous research from scientists worldwide.

  • “Carbon footprint is a hoax”
By denying the concept of a carbon footprint, Trump rejects a basic tool for measuring human contributions to global warming. Carbon accounting is fundamental to understanding emissions and implementing policies to reduce them.

  • “Climate predictions are wrong, made by stupid people”
This attacks the credibility of climate scientists who follow strict peer-reviewed methodologies. The IPCC and other expert bodies provide consensus-based predictions grounded in decades of observations and climate modeling.

  • “The Green New Deal is a green scam”
Trump characterized climate policies as a “scam,” dismissing the real costs of extreme weather events, which have already cost businesses and taxpayers billions globally.

Scientific Consensus vs. Trump’s Claims

  • Government reports: A November 2018 report from 13 U.S. federal agencies warned that unchecked climate change could cost the U.S. hundreds of billions annually. Trump dismissed this, saying, “I don’t believe it.”

  • Expert analysis: In August 2025, experts called a climate report from Trump’s Department of Energy “a farce” riddled with misinformation and based on debunked research.

  • Physical evidence: Satellite data show declining Arctic and Antarctic ice, accelerating sea-level rise, and increasing extreme weather events — contrary to Trump’s claims that polar ice is “at a record level.”

  • International condemnation: Trump’s 2025 withdrawal from the Paris Agreement drew formal UN criticism, reflecting global concern over the U.S. abandoning international climate commitments.

Potential Consequences

Experts warn that Trump’s misinformation carries real risks:

  • Distraction from action: The International Panel on the Information Environment (IPIE) warned that climate misinformation “turn[s the] crisis into a catastrophe” by delaying urgent interventions.

  • Policy distortion: Suppressing data on climate costs benefits polluters while ignoring the societal and economic consequences of global warming.

  • Disruptive rhetoric: During his first term, Trump rolled back over 100 environmental regulations. His anti-climate messaging, amplified by sympathetic media, signals a likely repeat of harmful policy decisions in a second term.

  • Unreliable and Untrustworthy: Most importantly, Trump has undermined the U.S.’s reputation as a credible and dependable global partner. His attacks on science and scientists will not be forgotten and have significantly contributed to the accelerating decline of American leadership and credibility.

Conclusion

Trump’s statements at the UN are not harmless bluster — they are part of a broader pattern of denial and obstruction that jeopardizes scientific integrity, global cooperation, and public safety. The world faces increasingly urgent climate challenges, and misinforming the public only makes the crisis harder to solve.

I’ve been getting a flood of questions about how to resist the Trump Regime: “What can I do?” in the midst of growing feelings of helplessness and hopelessness. My answer: focus on your strengths. Build a strong individual plan. Be resourceful. And sharpen your wits — because wit is often the best weapon.

The Censorship Example

As an investigative journalist with decades of experience defending the First Amendment, I’ve faced threats, targeted attacks, assaults by both criminals and police, fines, arrests, jail time, and years of court battles. Yet never — not once — have I seen anything as alarming as what is happening today. I’m furious at the erosion of our First Amendment rights, and I’m returning to my roots. In protest of this assault on free speech — and in solidarity with Jimmy Kimmel, Stephen Colbert, and the countless journalists silenced worldwide this year — I’m returning to my roots: sharp-witted satire. Words are swords, and comedy is our shield. That’s why tyrants fear it, why dictators ban it, and why Trump is trying to kill it. Humor exposes lies, punctures egos, and topples emperors who think they wear clothes.

During one period when I was illegally detained, silenced, and stripped of my rights, I adopted the pseudonym Mootmute. My lawyer was on speed dial, and I even had a plan to publish from jail. The name itself became a symbol of resistance. As they tried to turn me into a moot mute, I turned their strategy back on them. As I often say: hold up your sword and stand firm. If they continue to impale themselves on your defensive position, so be it.

Another form of resistance was publicly exposing their hypocrisy. For amusement and effect, while under oath I asked prosecutors what I wasn’t allowed to say. Their response? They wheeled in file cabinets overflowing with papers they themselves had published and read, line by line, everything that was now forbidden as “speech.” And so the name Mootmute stuck. They tried to silence me, but instead they became my unwitting mouthpiece, committing the very crime they accused me of.

Expanding the Resistance

In addition to the personal defiance above, I found other ways to resist oppression. While I was under attack, my publishing company — and the entities that had licensed my intellectual property — also became targets. To protect the innocent, I created a new publishing company. Much like Prince, who famously changed his name to a symbol when stripped of his own, I adopted a symbol too — only mine was crafted from ASCII characters and represented “the finger.” The irony was delicious: every time prosecutors wheeled in stacks of paper and read the forbidden words into the record, each page carried my publishing company’s logo at the bottom. The very emblem of defiance they sought to erase stared back at them from their own exhibits.

For added effect — and a touch of legal one-upmanship — I included a copyright notice on every page:

“These pages and their content may not be used without our expressed written consent. Violators will be prosecuted to the fullest extent allowed under the law.”

In their zeal to prosecute me, they inadvertently committed yet another offense: publishing my work without consent while declaring in court that no one was allowed to say what they themselves had just published.

Conclusion

So, “What can I do?” in the face of rising helplessness and hopelessness? Focus on your strengths. Develop a solid, individual plan. Be resourceful. And hone your wit — because wit is often your sharpest weapon and, in some cases, may literally save your life.

The new release of the day, “Mootmute,” was born from the flood of questions I keep hearing: “What can I do?” in the middle of this growing sense of helplessness and hopelessness. My answer? Focus on your strengths. Build a strong individual plan. And sharpen your wits — because wit is a weapon.

As an investigative journalist with decades defending the First Amendment, I’ve been threatened, targeted, assaulted by both criminals and police, fined, arrested, jailed, and dragged through years of court battles. In protest of this assault on free speech — and in solidarity with Jimmy Kimmel, Stephen Colbert, and the countless journalists slaughtered worldwide this year — I’m returning to satire. During one period when I was illegally detained, silenced, and stripped of my rights, I adopted the pseudonym Mootmute. I had my lawyer on speed dial and even had a plan to publish from jail.

So, what is a moot mute? It’s the absurdity of censorship itself — being forced into silence until your very voice becomes a moot point. If a town crier had their tongue cut out, how would they warn the people? If a writer were pressed so hard that the only escape was invoking the Fifth, would they become a moot mute? That’s what censorship does: it tries to erase you into irrelevance.

Much to my amusement, when I was under oath I asked prosecutors what I wasn’t allowed to say. Their response? They wheeled in file cabinets overflowing with papers they themselves had published and read, line by line, everything now forbidden as “speech.”

And so the name stuck — Mootmute. They tried to silence me, but instead they became my unwitting mouthpiece, committing the very crime they accused me of.

Trump’s $15 Billion Tantrum: When a Lawsuit Becomes Performance Art

President Donald J. Trump’s $15 billion lawsuit against The New York Times has been tossed like yesterday’s fast-food wrapper, for now.

Calling the president’s 85-page magnum opus of grievance “decidedly improper and impermissible,” U.S. District Judge Steven D. Merryday effectively told Trump to either learn how to write like a lawyer or go back to yelling at clouds. The judge, apparently unamused by the creative writing project, noted that the suit only contained two actual claims of defamation — Count I appearing on page 80, Count II on page 83 — buried beneath 79 pages of ego stroking, political invective, and what could best be described as a rejected campaign speech.

Judge Merryday reminded the former president that a legal complaint is supposed to be a “short and plain statement” of facts, not a “megaphone for public relations” or a “passionate oration at a political rally.” Translation: save the ranting for Truth Social. Oh, and trim it down to 40 pages or less — think of it as Twitter with footnotes.

This latest courtroom spectacle follows Trump’s ongoing legal vendetta tour against the media — having already aimed lawsuits at ABC, CBS, and The Wall Street Journal. His beef with The Times? That it acted as a “mouthpiece” for Democrats and gave Kamala Harris a campaign contribution in the form of journalism he didn’t like. In other words, reporting = rigging.

Free Speech, Unless You’re Pro-Palestinian

Meanwhile, in Trumpworld, free speech is sacred — unless you say something he doesn’t like. Multiple lawsuits have been filed against the administration’s alleged policy of targeting pro-Palestinian non-citizens for deportation, simply for expressing political views. Critics call it a direct violation of the First Amendment, creating a climate of fear on university campuses.

Take the case of Mahmoud Khalil, a Columbia University alum and legal U.S. resident. On September 17, 2025, an immigration judge in Louisiana ordered him deported — either to Algeria or Syria — over alleged misrepresentations on his green card application. Federal courts, however, are still blocking his deportation while his case proceeds. The irony, of course, is that Trump insists on defending the “freedom” of Confederate statues while trying to silence actual human beings.

The Pentagon Redefines “Free Press”

Not to be outdone, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth unveiled new rules limiting Pentagon press access. Reporters now risk being banned for “unprofessional conduct” or even attempting to obtain information — whether classified, unclassified, or simply embarrassing to the administration.

In short: report at your own risk. The rules are so broad, you could probably lose access for asking where the bathroom is without “appropriate authorizing official” approval.

Trump’s Top Hits: Freedom Edition

As academics around the world scratch their heads, one burning question remains: which Trump-era attack on free speech is the most idiotic?

  1. Renaming the Gulf of Mexico the “Gulf of America” — because nothing says freedom like renaming water.

  2. Renaming the Department of Defense the “Department of War” — because why bother hiding it?

Perhaps, in the end, Trump’s lawsuits and renamings are all just a form of performance art — a legal and political avant-garde movement where coherence, constitutionality, and common sense are strictly optional.

The Death of the First Amendment: Trump’s War on Free Speech

As an investigative journalist with decades of experience defending the First Amendment, I’ve endured more than my share of danger. My life has been threatened, my family targeted. I’ve been assaulted by both criminals and police, fined, arrested, jailed, and dragged through years of court battles. But never — not once — have I seen anything as alarming as what is happening today.

On September 18, 2025, Donald Trump declared that any television network critical of him would risk having its broadcast license revoked. This came just one day after ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live! was suspended, following the earlier cancellation of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. Trump’s message is clear: dissenting voices will not be tolerated.

Let’s be perfectly honest: this isn’t about “bias in the media.” This is about censorship. This is about silencing opposition. This is about killing comedy before it can mock power — and make no mistake, satire has always been the sharpest blade in democracy’s arsenal.

The Palin–Trump Paradox

When asked why he doesn’t care if Russia invades EU countries, Trump said the U.S. isn’t “geographically close” to Russia, and that Europeans should shoulder the burden for Ukraine’s defense.

“They’re our next-door neighbors — you can actually see Russia from land here in Alaska,” Sarah Palin once said.

And I always thought Sarah wasn’t that swift. Turns out, compared to Trump, she’s Einstein — with a side of cottage cheese.

A Call to Arms — Through Laughter

In protest of this ongoing assault on free speech — and in solidarity with Jimmy Kimmel, Stephen Colbert, and the many journalists slaughtered around the globe this year — I am returning to my roots: satirical wit. Words are swords, and right now, satire is our shield.

Comedy has always been democracy’s secret weapon.

On September 18, 2025, Donald Trump declared that any television network critical of him would risk having its broadcast license revoked. These words came the day after ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live! was suspended, following the earlier cancellation of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. Trump’s message is unmistakable: dissenting voices will be silenced.

Since his return to power, Trump has wasted no time weaponizing the legal system against his perceived enemies — especially the press. Major networks like ABC, CBS, and even independent journalists are drowning under an endless barrage of lawsuits. These suits are not designed to win in court; they are designed to financially cripple media organizations, bury them in legal fees, and intimidate others into silence. A Justice Department that now resembles a political death squad is carrying out these vendettas. The question is no longer “will someone stop him?” but “is there anyone left who can?”

Access to the White House briefing room has also become a weapon. Critical outlets — including Reuters, once considered the gold standard of global journalism — have been barred from daily briefings, their press credentials revoked without explanation. Independent reporters are routinely denied access, while hand-picked pro-Trump media figures are given front-row seats and unlimited opportunities to lob softball questions. By choking off access to information, Trump has turned what was once the people’s press room into a propaganda stage.

And the assault extends beyond the newsroom. Across the country, state and federal authorities are escalating their crackdowns on peaceful protests. Ordinary Americans exercising their constitutional rights to assembly and free speech are being arrested and charged. Their “crime”? Opposing war, genocide, or environmental destruction. At the recent Hands Off! protests, chants weren’t just against military aggression — they demanded the release of political prisoners currently held inside the United States.

Disturbingly, several activists have been detained without due process. Others have been deported, in open violation of constitutional protections. This is not the America our founders envisioned.

It’s no longer a matter of speculation whether your First Amendment rights are under attack. They are. And as someone who has dedicated a career to protecting those rights, I can report — without hesitation — that the First Amendment has already been compromised. The only question now is whether Americans will recognize it in time to fight back.

bookmark_borderThe Deep Ocean’s Silent Warning: Why Rapid Warming Signals a Climate Emergency

by Daniel Brouse
September 17, 2025

A new deep-ocean study has revealed that even the deepest layers of the ocean are warming at a rapid rate. Since the oceans absorb and store over 90% of the excess heat trapped by greenhouse gases, even a tiny increase — as little as one-tenth of a degree — represents an enormous amount of additional stored thermal energy.

The physics is stark: if that accumulated ocean heat were distributed across land surfaces, it would equate to an estimated 35°C increase in land temperatures — a level that would make most of the planet uninhabitable. This highlights how oceans have been masking the true extent of surface warming, acting as a temporary buffer while silently destabilizing their own systems through stratification, circulation slowdown, and ecosystem collapse.

Right now, the entire Pacific Ocean is running 1.6°C above its long-term average — a shocking six standard deviations above the mean. In climate science, deviations of this magnitude are virtually off the charts, underscoring just how far outside of “normal variability” our planet has moved.

The consequences are already deadly. The last three summers have been the hottest ever recorded globally, with Europe bearing some of the worst impacts. This summer alone, thousands died across European cities and towns from severe heat. According to attribution studies, three times as many people perished from extreme heat than would have in a world without human-driven warming. The death toll is no longer hypothetical — it is measurable, mounting, and accelerating.

Yet even as evidence mounts, political obstruction continues. The Trump administration, officials repeatedly downplays or denies the dangers of rising temperatures. One of the United States’ most respected scientific bodies, the National Academy of Sciences, flatly rejected those claims, affirming that the evidence for dangerous climate change is “beyond scientific dispute” and that the impacts on the nation are worsening year by year.

The deep ocean is not just a passive reservoir; it is a warning system. The rapid heating of its most remote depths is telling us, in no uncertain terms, that we are burning through our margin of safety. The oceans may have shielded us from the full brunt of global warming so far, but that shield is cracking — and when it fails, the true scale of the climate crisis will be unleashed.

Footnote:
Sidd and I have been discussing the difference between ocean and land temperatures. I thought I understood it before, but when this new study came out, it really clicked. When people talk about keeping global warming below 1.5°C, that figure is just a global average — across land, oceans, and the atmosphere. In reality, it’s a misleading benchmark. What truly matters is that even a one-tenth of a degree rise in the deep oceans represents an immense increase in stored heat, with far-reaching consequences for the entire climate system.

* Our probabilistic, ensemble-based climate model — which incorporates complex socio-economic and ecological feedback loops within a dynamic, nonlinear system — projects that global temperatures are becoming unsustainable this century. This far exceeds earlier estimates of a 4°C rise over the next thousand years, highlighting a dramatic acceleration in global warming. We are now entering a phase of compound, cascading collapse, where climate, ecological, and societal systems destabilize through interlinked, self-reinforcing feedback loops.

We examine how human activities — such as deforestation, fossil fuel combustion, mass consumption, industrial agriculture, and land development — interact with ecological processes like thermal energy redistribution, carbon cycling, hydrological flow, biodiversity loss, and the spread of disease vectors. These interactions do not follow linear cause-and-effect patterns. Instead, they form complex, self-reinforcing feedback loops that can trigger rapid, system-wide transformations — often abruptly and without warning. Grasping these dynamics is crucial for accurately assessing global risks and developing effective strategies for long-term survival.

What Can I Do? → “Solutions to the Fossil Fuel Economy and the Myths Accelerating Climate and Economic Collapse.“
There are numerous actions you can take to contribute to saving the planet. Each person bears the responsibility to minimize pollution, discontinue the use of fossil fuels, reduce consumption, and foster a culture of love and care. The Butterfly Effect illustrates that a small change in one area can lead to significant alterations in conditions anywhere on the globe. Hence, the frequently heard statement that a fluttering butterfly in China can cause a hurricane in the Atlantic. Be a butterfly and affect the world.
