Ironically, President Trump has taken a far-left liberal approach by socializing the egg industry. Unable to keep his campaign promise to lower egg prices, the U.S. government has subsidized the industry to the tune of billions of dollars.
U.S. Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins announced that the United States is importing hundreds of millions of eggs from South Korea and Turkey.
The U.S. government is actively addressing soaring egg prices through a comprehensive strategy that includes both financial support for domestic producers and increased imports. In February 2025, the USDA unveiled a $1 billion plan to combat avian influenza and stabilize egg prices. This plan allocates $400 million in financial relief for affected farmers, effectively subsidizing domestic egg production to mitigate the impact of the outbreak. Additionally, to quickly augment the egg supply and alleviate price pressures, the U.S. is importing hundreds of millions of eggs from countries like South Korea and Turkey. During his campaign this is what Trump referred to as radical liberals.
